iSky EcoStar Wins Custom Retailer EXC!TE 8/15/11
Company’s New Starfield Ceiling Awarded for
Being EcoFriendly, Innovative and Affordable
Winnetka, IL August 15, 2011 -- Fiberoptic
Studio, the award-winning creators of iSky Panel
Systems, was chosen by the staff at Custom Retailer
magazine for an EXC!TE award for the company’s new
EcoStar model. EcoStar is a patented starfield
ceiling that is both affordable and eco-friendly
while still providing a realistic night-time sky.
EcoStar is made from recycled polyester fiber,
using the latest in “green” technology (65%
PET-recycled fiber and 35% PET-virgin fiber). The
panels are so environmentally friendly they can
even be recycled.

Jeff Graham, president of Fiberoptic Studio
Corp, commented, “We’re thrilled to have our
EcoStar recognized by the experts at Custom
Retailer for an EXC!TE award. Our classic iSky was
previously an EXC!TE winner so this is indeed
gratifying. One of our goals has always been to
make a starfield ceiling that was even more
affordable and environmentally friendly at the same
time. An award such as the EXC!TE tells us that our
efforts are well recognized.”
Available to order now, EcoStar's black ceiling
panels, in choice of drop-in or surface mount,
significantly reduce the environmental footprint of
acoustic treatment versus traditional fiberglass.
They also reduce our dependency on foreign crude
oil and other non-renewable energy sources. Yet, in
addition to looking and sounding great, EcoStar
costs about half of a traditional star ceiling, is
easy to install, safe to use and provides
significant sound absorption.
Not only does EcoStar look the same as a premium
iSky panel, it retains all the exclusive iSky star
ceiling effects built right in. With the added
benefit of LED's coupled to fiberoptic strands,
EcoStar panels create the stars which allow these
panels to mimic the night time sky like no other.
EcoStar keeps with the company’s slogan, ‘Big Bang
Effects, Without all the Banging’.
Prices for EcoStar panels start at $31.25 per
square foot with one inch thick, being the standard
that provides for sound absorption at 0.75 NCR. For
additional sound absorption, two inch thick panels
are available as an upgrade. Panels also come
wrapped or unwrapped depending on the application
and desired effect.

For safety to both the installer as well as the
client, all panels are dust-free, non-allergenic,
non-toxic and fire retardant (self-extinguishing),
rated ASTM E-84 “A” grade.
For ease of installation, all iSky panels are
available as drop-in or surface mount and are field
cuttable for electrical outlets, projector mounts,
vents, lights and other unexpected challenges an
installer runs into during a typical
installation. The low voltage,
energy-efficient panels run cool and quiet and are
plug-and-play for fast reliable installs.

Fiberoptic Studio Celebrates 25th Anniversary 8/4/11
Winnetka, IL August 4, 2011 -- Fiberoptic
Studio, the award-winning creators of iSky Panel
Systems, announced their 25th Anniversary since
being founded in August 1986 by Jeff Graham in
Highland Park, Illinois. Now based in Winnetka, the
company today is best known for its patented iSky
starfield ceilings, acoustic solutions and uRay LED
lighting, typically designed into premium home
theater and media rooms.
Graham’s first products with Fiberoptic Studio
involved various, unique uses with fiberoptic
lighting in residential jobs as well as in
commercial signage for major companies like
McDonalds, Motorola and General Motors. His custom
work in high-end residential installations included
starfield ceilings however the early designs were
primitive and involved tediously embedding tiny
fiberoptic lights one at a time into acoustic
panels. It was here in 2003 that Graham invented
the time-saving concept of pre-made panels with
lighting already embedded. After changing the
fiberoptic lights to LED, this version ultimately
evolved to the patented plug and play system that
iSky uses today.
“Fiberoptic Studio has always had a passion for
innovative lighting.” recalled Jeff Graham, Founder
and CEO of Fiberoptic Studio. “We began with
installing fiberoptic lights in carpeting which we
thought was really cool at the time and then
started experimenting with fiberoptic and LED in
other applications which included starfield
ceilings. Twenty-five years later, though the
products, applications and the markets have changed
dramatically, we’re still excited to be creating
useful solutions for our customers.”

iSky Granted U.S. Patent 6/22/11
Winnetka, IL – Fiberoptic Studio Corp, the
award-winning creators of iSky Panel Systems and a
leading innovator of lighting products, has been
granted a U.S. patent for its groundbreaking
starfield ceiling. The patent (#7,766,526 B2)
recognizes the unique design of the iSky star panel
system by combining fiber optics with LED and digital
technology to create a star ceiling experience like
no other. The inventor is Jeff Graham, CEO of
Fiberoptic Studio.
In explaining the background of the patent, as
well as the company’s decades of work on these
innovations, Mr. Graham stated, “While starfield
ceilings have been around for some time, early
designs had inherent problems in cost and tedious,
labor-intensive installation. By taking a
completely different approach, iSky was able to
provide a more affordable, easy-to-install solution
that is actually three products in one - LED
lighting, a star panel ceiling and acoustic panels.
We call it Big Bang Effects, without all the
banging.”

iSky Starfield
Ceiling Panel with uRay lighting
iSky Panel Systems deliver a technically
advanced, cost-effective, star-field ceiling in a
package that is both simple and fast to install. As
a result of the exclusive, low voltage iSky Star
Engine, embedded into each panel for simple
daisy-chain wiring, lighting effects mimic the
random glimmer and color temperature of starlight
for visual impact unlike any other system on the
market.
For fast, easy installation, iSky Panel Systems
employ a simplified screw-in method combining the
ease of acoustic panel installation with the fiber
optic star ceiling effect. The iSky solution
secures easily to finished dry wall or drops
directly into grid ceilings so it can be utilized
in most installations. Cloud installations by which
the panels are hung by chains can also be
specified. Dimensions of 24”, 30” and 48” (in
square, radius and triangle shapes) allow for
ultimate flexibility in panel arrangement and
coverage, with custom models available upon
request. Up to 100 panels can be wired from one
common low voltage “wall-wart” power supply.
iSky panels however provide more than just a
dramatic, visual benefit. The panels’ premium
fiberglass materials, from a leading, national
producer, also ensure enhanced acoustical treatment
and optimized sound quality in virtually any
environment.
Fiberoptic Studio Corp., the creators of iSky
Panel Systems and uRay lighting, has been designing
high-end, custom fiber optic and LED lighting
solutions for clients across the United States for
25 years. Their new, innovative system
leverages cutting-edge technology and a
patent-pending Star Engine to address and conquer
the challenges of decorative ceiling lighting for
specialized applications. The company’s strengths
in lighting, design, and installation parameters,
have enabled them to develop a lighting/absorption
system that works as well for the end user as it
does for the distributor and installer.
Key Features of iSky Panel Systems:
1. Patented technology- self contained low
voltage star engine within each panel provides
realistic, random glimmer of starlight with none of
the heat, noise or space problems of traditional
approaches.
2. Fast, easy installation- installs like an
acoustic panel. Easy in-field modification for
light fixtures, sprinkler heads, smoke alarms and
HVAC fixtures.
3. Premium acoustic benefit- improves sound
quality in any installation. Available in standard
absorption as well as with diffusion.
4. Flexible sizes- variety of standard panel
sizes plus custom sizes available. Beveled edge
design effectively hides once-troublesome seams.
Provides design look.
5. LED lighting- system provides added utility
of LED lighting.
